Effects of effective microorganisms (EM) and bio-organic fertilizers on growth parameters and yield quality of flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum)

Abstract:

Lysimeter experiment was conducted to assess the growth parameters and yield quality of flue-cured tobacco plant treated by effective microorganisms (EM) and two different rates of Bio organic fertilizers (BOF). One control treatment with special tobacco fertilizer of 90N kg hm-2 was set as check. The outcomes showed a significant increase of plant height and stem girth per plant in T2 with combination of bioorganic fertilizer of 500 kg hm-2 and 7500 EM L hm-2. Moreover, this treatment significantly enhanced the accumulation of fresh and dry yield in flue-cured tobacco different parts. Effective Microorganisms applied with bioorganic fertilizer was also effective in improving leaf chlorophyll content. The ratio in different parts of flue-cured tobacco was significantly increased by bioorganic and EM fertilizer combination. The study identified T2 (500 BOF kg hm-2 and 7500 EM L hm-2) as the most effective treatment in improving plant growth characters and yield quality of flue-cured tobacco.
