Abstract:

Chronic kidney disease is a world wide public health challenge since patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) have to live on hemodialysis (HD) for the rest of their lives unless a kidney donor and a successful kidney transplantation is carried out. Patients on HD have increased mortality compared with the general population. Several factors can play a negative role and increase risk of mortality among HD patients, particularly cardiovascular diseases. Given the high comorbidity in patients on hemodialysis and the complexity of the dialysis treatment, it is remarkable how rarely a life-threatening complication occurs during dialysis. The purpose of this study was to review literature on the study of different symptomatic factors associated with haemodialysis. The latest distributed papers which tells about the various risk factors arise due to haemodialysis were looked through utilizing logical destinations, for example, Google Scholar. Studies show that the complications arising due to haemodialysis are hypokalemia, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, hypernatremia, hypertension, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, constipation and bloating. There are many more factors that arise due to haemodialysis but the above factors are more prominent than others.
