The entire salt production area has been divided into five different zones, from the reservoirto the crystallizers and each of it has enormous potential to boost the integrated mariculture practices of different organisms with varying environmentalconditions. This paper attempts to reflect the dynamics of physico-chemical parameters of the aquatic ecosystem of salt-pans of Bhandup salt-works(Jenkin salt-work) and try to explore the possibilities of mariculture as part of the sustainable development of salt-pans. Among cultivable localspecies at salt-pans along with salt production include fishes like Oreochromis mossambicus, Gobius ocellatus, Boleopthalmus dussumieri, Mugildussumieri, Mugil belanak and Clupea lile.
