Examining the fluctuations in the wheat prices in Turkey and the course of development

Abstract:

The yearly fluctuations in the wheat prices in Turkey were studied by utilising time series analysis in order to determine the direction of those fluctuations. The fluctuations in the prices were indicated in graphics and the trend analysis was applied. The wheat producer prices were given as current prices and those current prices, deflated with the Wholesale Price Index and converted into fixed prices, and the difference between the two was shown in tables and in graphics. Time series analysis was applied for the monthly fluctuations and the producer prices, and the increase rate in the last years was indicated. In the analysed situation, there was a trend to increase in the wheat current prices index and trend, and in the same term, there was a trend for decrease in the real prices. The effects of the monthly fluctuations encountered in the wheat prices per years were studied with various dimensions, in terms of how they act on the producer.
