Abstract:

It is well documented and very often reported that Egyptian soils and crops suffer from micronutrient deficiencies. Most deficient micronutrients are Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu. Recently B problems have been reported. However, no work had been done to follow up soil content of such nutrients for long period. The aim of this study was to compare soil and crops leaf analysis of 2002 with the analysis of the same fields and crops 1995. The surveys cover 11 agricultural regions (cooperatives) at Ismailia district, Ismailia Governorate, Egypt. Crops under studied areas were wheat and clover as winter crops and maize and peanut as summer crops. No micronutrient fertilizers were added to any crops during the years between the two surveys. Data were used to develop GIS maps. It was found that content of micronutrients were detected during this period. Projection depletion after 5, 10 and 15 years was calculated. It is recommended that supplying these elements should be considered to prevent successive depletion.
