Abstract:

In this research, the peat was utilized as an adsorbent for removal of nickel (II) ions from aqueous solution. Adsorption experiments were conducted under various pH and time. The experimental results show that the adsorption for Ni (II) on peat is pH-dependent. The closed two-compartmental model can depict the adsorption-desorption process of nickel ion on peat reasonably. The ratio between adsorption-desorption constant for Ni (II) on peat increases with increasing pH values.
