Abstract:

The reliability of exploitation of a classical dissipation pool is dealing more with the knowledge of the admissible maximum flow going through the crest of the dam spillway than with the dimensions. The admissible maximum flow must be such as undermining doesn’t occur downstream the pool of energy dissipation, to this effect the dam will be sized of such sort to provoke a stationary jump that will occupy the totality of the dissipation pool. The present contribution deals with the elaboration of a simple, prompt and quick method (mission of the controller) allowing well to determine the admissible maximum flow and to monitor the dimensions of the dissipation pool.
