Abstract:

In the present study, the effects of soil water matric suctions (35, 50, 65 kPa) on canola (Brassica napus L.) leaf stomatal resistance and total amount of chlorophyll (SPAD value), which was irrigated by wastewater, were investigated. Five times during blooming period (June 1-22, 2010), leaf stomatal resistance (s cm-1) and SPAD values were measured. For 35, 50 and 65 kPa applications, model values at the same soil water matric suctions were estimated with the help of the exponential relations between the soil water matric suctions and leaf stomatal resistance. The statistical analysis on the model values showed that the effects of the applications on the leaf stomatal resistance were significantly different (P<0.01). The highest leaf stomatal resistance value was found in application of 65 kPa and the lowest value in 35 kPa application. Similarly, the effects of applications on SPAD values were significant (P<0.01).
