Abstract:

Crown rot disease caused by Fusarium culmorum and Fusarium graminearum is often a major challenge that faces the agronomists in general, to improve productivity of wheat in the dryland. Sixty four wheat varieties were screened against crown rot diease caused by F. culmorum and F. graminearum to identify sources of resistance/tolerance to crown rot disease. Seeds and seedling of wheat varieties were inoculated with F. culmorum and F. graminearum. The results from the screening allowed the identification of Demir 2000, Bezostaja 1, Tahirova 2000, Charisma, Karacabey 97 and Adana 99 wheat  genotypes with high to moderate resistance to the disease.
