Abstract:

Experimental studies of plant biomass production and its usage as the environmentally-friendly local fuel are presented in this paper. There are given the experimental research results of plant biomass preparation for burning, straw and wood briquettes burning efficiency, evaluated and compared the emissions of harmful substances into the air while burning these plants. There were presented the experimental research results of determination the low power boiler efficiency and harmful emissions while burning of different quality briquettes, produced by fine and bulky chaff length straw and fine chaff length wood. The test is carried out in the laboratory low power boiler, which is designed to burn wood, wood briquettes and large chaff. After determination of harmful substances’ emissions into the environment it was concluded, that burning efficiency of plant biomass briquettes was better and pollution concentration was lower when straw and wood fine chaff briquettes were used.
