Algocenosis of River Valbona (Albania) during winter season 2012

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the algocenosis of river Valbona, nearby city Bajram Curri, and   the quality of water, through algal bioindicators during winter  season of  2012 year. Samples for algological analyses were collected in three locality  along the river. Determination done accoding to the algal keys. During our investigation we determine different species of algae and bioindicators were derermined for the evaluation of the quality of water and class of bonity. At the river Valbona, during the winter 30 species of algae were determined. Dominate class was Bacillariophyceae with 24 species, following by Chlorophyta  with 3 species, Cyanophyta with 2 species, while Euglenophyta and Xanthophyta with one species.
