Abstract:

Developing a well-functional and competitive agricultural farm sector represents the main component of valuing the national agricultural potential in the transition process to a green agricultural economy. The improvement of agricultural structures has represented a dynamic and long lasting process, which often has overlapped the traditionally land reform measures. This paper analyses aspects regarding both the evolution of the Romanian agricultural sector in the process of improving its own competitiveness in relationship to the EU agricultural sector and how the national farms can become competitive given its focus on versatility, multiple activities and non-agricultural income diversification.
