Abstract:

The rheological behavior of difenoconazole suspensions with sodium alginate solutions and the influences of pH and temperature on the suspension systems were studied. The rheological behavior of the difenoconazole suspension concentrates (SCs) with 1 g/L sodium alginate is in accordance with the Herschel-Bulkley rheological model, and shows shear thinning property, the suspension system belongs to pseudoplastic fluid. The suspension with sodium alginate was relatively stable for the high consistency coefficient and shows obvious pseudoplasticity at pH 5.40. The rheology of difenoconazole SCs with sodium alginate shows significant decrease in viscosity with increasing temperature, and exhibits shear-thinning behavior and pseudoplastic characteristics at different temperatures. Sodium alginate has potential of application in enhancing stability of agricultural suspension concentrates.
