Evaluation of soil fertility suitability of tobacco planting fields on slant plain in the east side of Funiushan mountainin at central China supported by GIS

Abstract:

In order to reasonable utilization and scientific management of   tobacco planting fields in central China, It is meaningful for reasonable evaluating soil fertility suitability of tobacco crops quantitatively and objectively. Based on analysis of fertility properties of soil samples collected from Xiangchen tobacco planting regionsÿwhich is  on slant plain in the east side of Funiushan mountain at central  China, the paper presents the index system of soil fertility suitability of tobacco crops. The integrated evaluation of soil fertility suitability was studied with six indexes, including organic matter, pH value, available N, available P, available K and Cl-1 content of surface soil. The subjective grade value was calculated according to S-type and parabola- type function of the effect of evaluation factor on tobacco crops. And the weight value of soil fertility suitability indexes was calculated by the method of Hiberarchy analysis. The soil fertility suitability level was evaluated and classified. And the suitability map of  tobacco planting regions at central China was drawn with GIS software map GIS.
