Yield and yield components of some common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) local landraces and commercial varieties under Eastern Anatolia conditions

Abstract:With the trials conducted in two different conditions (plain and hillside) in Bingol ecological conditions six common bean cultivars and three local landraces (collected from different regions of Bingol) were examined. In the study, plant height 63.3-135.5 cm, height of first pod 9.3-20.9 cm, number of main brunch 4.9-9.5 cm, pods per plant 17.8-41.4, pod length 9.1-13.8 cm, seeds per pod 3.6-5.6, seeds per plant 74.8-160.2, seed yield per plant 27.9-59.2 g, 100 seed weight 31.7-49.0 g and seed yield 139.3-346.6 kg/da were found.
