Disposal of municipal waste water in a coastal location in Kuwait

Abstract:This paper deals with the disposal of municipal wastewater in the sea area and discusses the impacts of such waste on the sea marine environment. To study the impacts of municipal wastewater disposal in the sea area, it is recommended that we know the main constituents of wastewater subject to disposal. Naturally, to protect the marine environment from such pollution, information is important on the amount of the waste to be disposed and its composition. Then the impacts of this waste can be predicted as well as the hazards it has on the marine environment after disposal. The paper demonstrates the concentration of pollutants in the Kuwait municipal wastewater that reach the marine environment and their impacts. It also presents the necessary steps and plan on how to protect the sea from the discharge of municipal wastewater.
