Geoprocessing as a tool for verifying the suitability of soils at the disposal of swine wastewater

Abstract:This study aimed at verifying the susceptibility of soil of large agricultural areas to the application of swine wastewater, using of GIS tools for analysis of slope features in the study area. Therefore, a case study was used. The city of Entre Rios do Oeste, in the State of Paraná, Brazil, is an agricultural region with intensive swine farming, so that the great production of wastewater requires large areas for its disposal. The municipality of Entre Rios do Oeste has swine farming as the main livestock activity in parallel with a strong agricultural potential.
