Abstract:Since centenary medicinal plants are used to produce a novel variety of drugs for treatment of many diseases without any adverse effects. In the current study we have used the Withania somnifera fruit extract for the study of anti-inflammatory activity on albino male rats by using acute model of carrageenan method. In this method we have injected the extract into the rats, which were in 5 groups with six animals each and the extracts were compared with the standard drug indomethacin 20 mg/kg, p.o. The effect will be analyzed by using digital plethysmometer by measuring the volume of rat paws.
