Abstract:Adequate knowledge of the right quantity of nitrogen fertilizer in intercropping system is necessary. This experiment was done in order to estimate yield and yield components of forage corn (SC 704), intercropped by three cultivars of berseem clover on the basis of different nitrogen levels at Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic Azad University, Khorasgan Branch, Esfahan, Iran. Plant height, leaf fresh yield, stem fresh yield, total fresh yield, leaf dry yield, dry yield/fresh yield and total protein were significantly affected by cultivar. Nitrogen had significant influence on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaf, LAI, leaf fresh yield, stem fresh yield, total fresh yield, leaf dry yield, stem dry yield, total dry yield and total plant protein. Cultivar and nitrogen interaction had significant effect on leaf fresh yield, total fresh yield, leaf dry yield, total dry yield, dry yield/fresh yield and total protein in plant. On the basis of the results total fresh yield, total dry yield and total protein of plant were significantly increased by N addition from 0 to 60 kg/ha. Forage corn intercropped by Multicut also gave the highest total dry yield and total protein of plant, but the maximum total fresh yield was achieved in forage corn and Sacromont intercropping.
