Abstract:

According to the discussion on saline inhibition of crops, there are disadvantages and limitations of existing saline soil remediation technologies both domestic and abroad, especially electrokinetic method. This paper introduces a sludge layer on the electrokinetic processes, constructing an enhancing saline soil remediation technology. Laboratory experiments were carried out in order to estimate the possibility of an EK-sludge saline remediation scheme to saline land in Ningxia Plane. Through the analysis of testing results, this enhanced technology can make up the shortcoming of late effect on anode baking and polarity movements of water, thereby providing current density and resulting in 72.2% saline removal percentage, 28.4% or even higher than the desalination efficiency of nine enhanced EK systems under similar testing conditions. Moreover, the soil pH changes moderately from anode to cathode. In conclusion, the electrokinetic desalination method is suitable application in Ningxia Plane desalination.
