Effect of bioregulator on the quality of okra and garden egg seeds

Abstract:This study determined the effects of the bioregulator Stimulate® on the seed quality of two cultivars of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) and two cultivars of garden egg (Solanum gilo Raddi) in two experiments, by testing the vigor, seedling performance and seed health. The cultivars of okra (Santa Cruz and Amarelinho) and garden egg (Redondo Cristal and Morro grande) received increasing rates of the plant growth regulator Stimulate® (0, 4, 8 and 16 ml kg-1), resulting in a 2 x 4 factorial completely randomized design with four replications. The F-test was conclusive to compare the cultivars and the behavior of regulator rates was analyzed by a polynomial regression (P<0.05). The results showed significant differences between the cultivars, where the bioregulator tended to enhance the quality of seeds and initial seedling growth.
