Abstract:

In order to improve the performance of the plastic film separator for mechanical plucking of unginned cotton, the aim was to find out the optimal combination of influential factors that affect the performance of the separator. The effects of separator with the working parameters of this machine were investigated by enforced optimization experimental study which used the orthogonal test method and was based on the influence factors including skew barrel’s (angle of slope channel) angle, rotation speed of big mesh-roller, skew barrel’s entrance air speed and netty roller axis’s (the axis of the mesh-roller) horizontal included angle. Experimental results indicated that when skew barrel’s angle was 30°, big netty roller’s rotation speed was 80 r·min-1, entrance air speed was 17 m·s-1, and netty roller axis’s horizontal included angle was 36°, the isolating effect of this machine was best and could fulfill the working demand.
