Abstract:

The residues of diclofop-methyl in the soil and wheat were investigated. A method for residue analysis of diclofop-methyl and its metabolite diclofop was developed using high performance liquid chromatographic method. The method was then used to evaluate the residue levels of diclofopmethyl in the soil and wheat. Diclofop-methyl was rapidly degraded in the soil with a half-life of about 6.40 d. The results showed that diclofop-methyl is a suitable herbicide for farming in Istanbul in today’s conditions since its dissipation in soil was fast and no residue was observed on wheat. However, it was considered appropriate that the residue analysis should be done continuously.
