Effect of “Tai Chi” quan exercise on oxidative stress and immunity function in old people

Abstract:“Tai Chi” shows promise for improving many health outcomes and are recommended for dissemination to older adults. A “Tai Chi” practice was tested in some old people. Results showed that plasma lipid levels were reduced in these old practicers. With a 6-month-exercise, significant improvements in oxidative injury was found for participants (P <0.01). Immunity function was also markedly (P <0.01) improved. It can be concluded that “Tai Chi” quan exercise is useful for older adults and causes favorable quality of life benefits.
