Abstract:The study was conducted across three locations and three years to find out the correlation and path coefficients between seed yield and plant height, number of main branches, first pod height, pod number per plant, seed number per plant and 100 kernel weights of four chickpea cultivars. Seed yield positively and significantly correlated with all characters except 100 kernel weight. Positive direct effects of plant height and pod number per plant with significant correlation with seed yield suggested that these yield components may be a good selection criteria to improve chickpea cultivars.
