Abstract:

Crambe (Crambe abssynica Hoechst) is an oilseed crop belonging to Brassicaceae genus, with high oil content, really useful as a source raw material for biodiesel production. This work was conducted at Umuarama county, Parana State, Brazil, in area whose soil is classified as Oxisol and aimed to determine the effects of nitrogen fertilization rates (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha-1) and two growing seasons (spring and winter) over grain yield and oil content. It was used the experimental design in randomised complete blocks in factorial outline 5×2, with four replications. Nitrogen top dressing application improved the crambe production development when grown in the winter. Warmer temperatures seasons promote better crambe development.
